SUMMARY:Working with Parents who have Experienced Pregnancy Loss
DESCRIPTION:Pregnancy Loss – Mental Health Mondays – Training Series \nThis training session will be focusing on working with Parents who have Experienced Pregnancy Loss. The presentation draws from research recognizing that pregnancy loss occurs more often than many think. Statistically it occurs one out of every four pregnancies. This number is very high\, and yet due to continued stigma and lack of awareness in our society around issues of reproductive health and prenatal complications\, many parents feel isolated and unsure of how to cope when they experience a pregnancy loss. This presentation will review statistics around how often this occurs as well as what we can do as mental health professionals to support this population. The material will be presented through google slides and several additional resources will be provided. \nLearning objectives: \n\nUnderstand the prevalence of pregnancy loss and ways it can impact mental health.\nLearn several ways we can address this type of specialized grief and provide support as well as tools to our clients who experience pregnancy loss.\nIncrease overall competence of working with this population as well as provide several resources that clinicians can use themselves as well as provide to their clients.
