2025 WWA Board

Beth Scheelk, Chairperson, At-Large Representative - Outagamie County WIC

“Working in WIC as long as I have (25 years) I always appreciated everyone in WIC helping to raise the next generation of thriving kids. Joining WWA has provided me the opportunity to become more involved in the legislative aspects of WIC and advocating for not only the families but all the great people that work in WIC. I have been honored to Chair this organization and help to connect and educate WIC Staff across the state to continue to share the great work that WIC does every day!”

Kim Damrow, Past Chair, Northern Region Representative - Bay Area WIC

“Joining WWA will help build my advocacy skills for the WIC program. I am excited to reach out to partners at local, state and national levels to bring the best version of the WIC program forward for our participants.”

Morgan Thums, Treasurer, At-Large Representative - Healthfirst WIC

“Working in WIC allows me to be a part of a program that promotes families building healthy habits together from the start. I love hearing about a family’s successes and also get to be a cheerleader for them while we build goals to work through obstacles that come their way.”

Shawn Handfelt, Co-Treasurer, At-Large Representative - Grant County WIC

“I enjoy being on the WWA board, having opportunities to grow with WIC and the feeling that I am helping our WIC participants in many different aspects.”

Rachel Bauer, Secretary, Northeastern Region Representative - Kewaunee County WIC

“WWA will give me the chance to not only be a voice for families, but also to help maintain the integrity of the program. My passion for WIC lies in simplifying evidence-based information into creative snippets that families can use to improve their health and reduce stress. At times, all our parents need is a listening ear, and I love being there for them and providing reassurance that everything will be okay.”

Alex Forsythe, Southeastern Region Representative - Sixteeth Street WIC

“I love working closely with WIC families to help instill healthy habits and have a passion for connecting others to community resources. As a member of WWA, I feel I can elevate the voice of WIC families and educate others on the importance of WIC services.”

Emily Seltzner, Southern Region Representative - Columbia County WIC

“I am excited to be a WWA member for the opportunity to work amongst a team of creative and passionate nutrition professionals. Being a part of this organization will help build my leadership skills and allow me to voice the benefits of the WIC program on a greater level. It is meaningful to play even a small part in supporting the overall health and wellbeing of the families we serve.”

Amy Richter, Western Region Representative - Pierce County WIC

“Advocacy is a great way for us to be able to ensure those in our community in need are able to receive the best of the services available. It means a lot to be able to expand my ability to make a difference in our community and continue to help support nutrition and physical activity.”

Marlena Oeschner At-Large Representative Washington Ozaukee WIC

“I have been working with WIC since June of 2022 as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. I love being part of such a great organization that helps families and enjoy connecting with other parents, especially working with moms to meet their breastfeeding goals.”

Heidi McCann, At-Large Representative - Oneida Nation WIC

“Working in WIC has been such a rewarding experience helping families build a solid foundation for healthy habits. I’m excited to be part of WWA where I can further expand that foundation and be a voice to support healthy lifestyles for the families we serve on a much greater level.”

Alyssa Gollon, At-Large Representative - Wood County WIC

“I started working with WIC participants in March 2024. The program quickly became my heart and soul and I wanted to help as many families as I could. Joining the WWA board means that I can be a play a part in helping even more families receive WIC benefits and also improve on efficiency to better fit the families in the WIC program.”
