Membership
What Does It Mean to be A WWA Member?
All local Wisconsin WIC agency staff are WWA members and National WIC Association members, paid by the State WIC Office.
How do I get involved in WWA?
- Participate as a committee member
- Join the board (elections in the summer)
- Collaborate with WWA to host a local advocacy event at your WIC office.
- Apply for a scholarship to assist continuing education
WWA Committees:
Join the WWA Board without the commitment! Participation in WWA committees allows you to meet other WIC professionals from around Wisconsin, be “in the know” with WWA, and gain leadership and other experiences you may not get in your current role.
- Advocacy – The advocacy committee focuses on educating WWA members on how to best advocate for WIC, provide opportunities for WIC staff to advocate, document advocacy efforts and develop and maintain advocacy partnerships with organizations that have similar missions.
- Connection – The connection committee oversees strategic communications to promote the WWA’s mission and purpose. The committee provides guidance and the implementation of the communications functions of the website, social media, and other communication avenues to promote and market WWA actions and WIC news.
- Professional Development – The Professional Development Committee is responsible for providing training opportunities to nutrition professionals to ensure a competent workforce in WIC. This committee ensures and advocate for CDR continuing education credits at WWA events, and other statewide WIC events. It provides qualified speakers and represents the mission of WWA during the planning State conferences. The committee will also provide a session to meet the ethics component mandated by ACEND.
